In the southeast corner of Spain, Mojácar is near Almeria. If you are looking to take a relaxing holiday in the sun then Mojácar is the place to be. The tourist trade has recently discovered Mojácar and its fame spreads daily, both in Spain and abroad. Mojácar is an ancient Moorish village perched on the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera Mountains, overlooking the Mediterranean coastline. Although the village of Mojácar remains the same as it has for centuries, the relatively recent development of Mojácar Playa, a 9 km stretch of wide, sandy beaches, many having been awarded the EEC blue flag for cleanliness. Mojacar offers many of the features of a holiday resort, including many fine restaurants, bars, hotels and shops catering for all tastes. Water sports for the sports enthusiast are excellent activities available. You can practice all kinds of aquatic sports such as water-skiing, jet skiing, swimming, fishing, diving, boating and yachting.
Ancient in origin and Arabic in appearance, Mojacar spills down the side of a hill in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera. In spite of the slow destruction that it has been subjected to, it preserves its spectacular structure of stepped terraces and charming narrow streets down the hill. On the coast, are more than 5kms of beach front along which there has been considerable urban development, notably there are 12km of virgin beaches and coves which reach to the borders of the cabo de gata natural park. Mojacar is undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan place in the whole region.

Vera Aquatico park is 10 minutes drive from Mojacar. Sorbas, a town of Iberian origin situated above a tributary of the rio de aguas, which its houses overhang. There is a reception centre for visitors to visit the rural tourism adventure caves. Tabernas desert where you can visit Mini Hollywood, which was the location for the filming of many spaghetti western movies. Many of the film sets have been preserved and are opened for visitors.
